FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q I placed an order online, but forgot to order drinks. Can I add them once I arrive?

A We are here to serve you, so of course you may order more once you arrive. Let our drive-thru team know you’d like to add something and they’ll take payment on the spot.

Q Do you take cash?

A We accept all forms of payment and prefer to limit contact by asking guests to order and pay online.

Q What happens if I arrive earlier than my promised time?

A We cook everything to be ready at the promised time, so if you’re early, we will direct you to a numbered spot where we’ll bring your food as soon as it’s ready. Just sit tight, and we’ll deliver it to you.

Q I live in the neighborhood and like to walk to Picante. Do you take walk-up orders?

A We take guest in cars, on bikes, on foot and even roller skates! However, because we are trying to limit contact for your safety and ours, we request that you order and pay online before you pick up your food. If you arrive without ordering, we have menus on a few tables out front. Just follow the ordering instructions on the table.

Q Do you have restrooms?

A In our commitment to keeping everyone safe, we are not allowing use of our restrooms at this time.

Q Do you have patio seating?

A We do not have patio service, but we have a patio picnic area. Place your order ahead and check in with our drive=thru team when you arrive. Once your food is in hand, you may grab a table with your pod. Please note again: there is no table service, and we ask that you dispose of your takeout containers upon finishing your meal so we can sanitize the table before the next guest.

Q Is my adorable dog allowed on your patio?

A We love seeing your well-behaved, on leash pooch. Be sure and tag #picanteberkeley with a photo of your patio pooch on social media.

Q Why don’t you offer food through Postmates or other delivery services?

A When we got a phone call from a guest who said they ordered their food from us 2 hours ago and it had not yet arrived, we realize that we can’t guarantee the service others provide. If you want to support locally-owned restaurants, the best way is to order with them directly and pick it up to avoid the hefty delivery fee that you and they share.

Q Do you still offer salsa for free?

A We offer 1 free salsa for most of our dishes* and 2 for burritos. Since we have the added labor and expense of individually portioned containers, we do charge 50 cents for any additional house=made salsa you may want. We also sell 6 oz. and 16 oz. tubs of table salsa and salsa fresca which will stay fresh for up to 3 days. *fish & shrimp dishes come with mango-jicama salsa already. Manchamanteles and chile verde are saucy and do not come with extra salsa.

Q Will you provide an indoor dining option soon?

A We are committed to seeing this pandemic through without contributing to a spike in cases. Since people who test positive are twice as likely to have dined in a restaurant, we will continue with curbside until we defeat this virus. We miss seeing your smiling faces, and will do our part to make sure that we’re all back together.
